YouTube is full of focus videos, but if you search “white noise” or “focus music,” there are so many options that it’s almost overwhelming.
I thought it might be helpful to put together a list of some of my personal favorites that I’ve returned over and over again.
These picks span several moods and tropes within this genre because if you’re anything like me, sometimes you need something slow and steady, sometimes you need something upbeat, and sometimes you just want some solid white noise.
I hope you find something here that fits your needs. Bookmark this page, and check back regularly because I add new videos all the time.
These are my favorite focus videos on YouTube.
White Noise
In my previous job, I used to travel quite a bit. My co-worker and I used to talk about how well we focused when we were flying. I think part of the reason is that we have nowhere else to go, but I also think it has something to do with what is now known as “airplane white noise.”
These videos do a great job of replicating that experience, and whenever I need some deep focus and really need to block out surrounding noise, I use these videos.
All-Day Work Session
This is one of my favorite videos to turn to for a guided work session. This one is designed to give you three, three-hour sessions (morning, afternoon, and evening), for a total of 9 hours. I’m not sure I’ve ever made it through all three, but I find the soft piano music with soft beats easy to work to.
I also love that you get to watch someone else working along with you, so if you’re working from home, this can help make you feel like you’re not alone.
Upbeat Playlist
I love using an upbeat playlist in the afternoon when I feel like I could use more energy. The last thing I want is mellow music that makes me want to fall asleep. You can call this the caffeinated playlist.
One thing I like about this one is that it’s only 60 minutes long, so you can use it as an hour-long timer as well.
